		<description>Sasha, I couldn&#039;t agree with you more when you say that surface roots are not the only answer. Over the past two years I have worked on several TTC projects including The porposed LRT system, the Yonge subway extension and I am currently working on the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension. And like you said it seems the TTC is trying to combine both teh surface and subsurface routes.  With that said, from what I see each kilometer of subway is only costing about $100 million give or take a little, if the estimate you have heard for street cars is correct I do think that the extra $30 million per km for a subway is well worth it when you consider the advatages of subsurface transit in our climate.</description>
